Greeting Text

Following twenty years of farmer's markets selling locally grown vegetables, native fruits, and local honey Linda created Marianne's Kitchen in Shoreview, MN, an oasis of good food, conversation and laughter in a suburban food desert. Operating from 2011-2017 the cafe offered home made soups, fresh bread baked daily, great sandwiches and treats and a complete line of gluten-free soups, pickled products, jams, jellies, salsas and locally sourced soups, honey and grains.

The Marianne's Kitchen of sharing, conversation, and learning continues with ongoing commentary, food reviews and food finds as we grow, cook and eat our food and sample local restaurants.

Anelace Coffe on Central, South of Lowry in MPLS

anelace coffee marianne's kitchenCoffee break.
Anelace reminds me of being in London.....let’s see, our daughter-in-law would be at work; our son is giving a seminar at Oxford — so if I was there, I’d be up to a little no-good, looking for a little coffee place.
Stopping at Anelace on Central Ave in Mpls is the ticket!!!
anelace coffee marianne's kitchenWhite tile, big wooden banquettes, a rustic wooden
floor.....& French-baked croissants.
No cold brew; instead, a choice of pour over coffees—hot or iced. I choose coffee with plum essence in the beans.
The barista asked if I’d like a glass of water—-sparkling or still—-are you sure I’m not in London??
Water served in adorable little Libby American-made glassware. I sold so much Libby & Anchor Hocking when I worked at elements - I can almost remember the style numbers from the shipping boxes ; )
As someone said on-line—-the ‘vibe is chill’...a totally peaceful place to take a moment & enjoy the day.
